Understanding our Terms

We know that life with dogs (and humans) can be unpredictable, so we keep our terms straightforward, fair, and friendly. By booking a training session or using our website, you’re agreeing to the terms below. They’re here to make sure everyone feels safe, respected, and supported.
Booking and Payment

All training sessions need to be booked in advance.

Payment is due before or at your first session (unless we’ve agreed otherwise).

Preferred payment method is bank transfer, however cash is also accepted.

If payment isn’t received on time, we may need to pause or reschedule your booking.
Cancellations, Rescheduling and Refunds
We totally get it – sometimes life throws a curveball. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please give us as much notice as possible.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance won’t be charged.

Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged in full, but we’ll always do our best to be flexible if something unexpected happens.

No-shows (missed appointments without notice) are usually non-refundable.

Refunds are at our discretion and handled with common sense.

If we need to reschedule (due to illness, wild weather, or life happening on our end), we’ll offer you a new time that works.
Your Part in the Partnership
We want your training to be safe and effective. Here's how you can help:

Make sure your dog is up to date with vaccinations (unless we’ve agreed otherwise).

Let us know about any behaviour concerns (e.g. aggression, reactivity, or fear-based behaviour) before we start.

Tell us if your female dog is in season.

Keep dogs on lead unless we say otherwise.

Supervise children at sessions.

Arrive on time – sessions are scheduled to finish at their planned time, even if you’re running late.

Treat you and your dog with respect and empathy.

Tailor support to your dog’s needs and learning style.

Refer you to another professional if we think your dog needs extra support outside our scope
Every Dog is Different
Dogs are individuals – and training takes time, consistency, and teamwork. We’ll give you the tools, but results depend on your ongoing effort. We can’t promise specific outcomes or timelines, but we’ll be right there cheering you on.
Risk and Responsibility
Training sessions involve real-world environments, other people, and sometimes unpredictable dog behaviour. By participating, you accept:

Responsibility for your safety and your dog’s behaviour.

That any damage caused by your dog is your responsibility.
We’re not liable for injuries, illnesses, or damages that may occur during training (especially in public spaces or with other dogs or people). We recommend having up-to-date pet insurance just in case.
Stuff Outside of our Control
We’ll always try to keep your booking, but if something big gets in the way – like illness, natural disasters, or major disruptions – we might need to reschedule. We appreciate your understanding when life does its thing.
Photos, Videos and Sharing Smiles
We love celebrating our training wins (big and small!) through photos or videos. These might end up on our website or social media.
If you'd rather not be included, no worries – just let us know before your session.
Training Materials and Resources
We may give you handouts, notes, or tailored training guides – these are for your personal use only. Please don’t copy, share, or republish them without asking first.
Using our Website
We’re proud of our little corner of the internet. Please don’t:

Copy or reuse content without permission.

Use the site for anything unlawful or dodgy.

Try to access anything behind-the-scenes.

Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any issues will be handled through NZ legal channels.
